About me

Welcome to Grapes & Plates.

I started this blog out of my love for food, wine and travel – the holy trinity. When I’m not dreaming up dishes to cook for the weekend, I’m plotting trips to our local Asian supermarket, working out how to use a pasta maker, or cracking open a bottle of wine and raising a glass to the weekend. To me, food and drink is one of life’s greatest pleasures, and I’m suspicious of anyone who thinks otherwise.

As deputy editor of the drinks business magazine, I follow the wine, beer and spirits industry closely, and have a keen interest in wine. I hold a Level 3 WSET award in wines and spirits, and am a Level 4 WSET diploma student.

While I have a background in drinks, particularly wine, I have no professional training in the kitchen and don’t proclaim to be an expert, but take pride in my “have a go” attitude to cooking.

Comments are very welcome.
